When it comes to spreading the word about fire safety, you don’t have to go it alone. Working in partnership, we can have a real impact on the fire problem. We’ve teamed up with like-minded organizations – and have a broad network of public education specialists – who are committed to helping you be successful.
Public Education
In addition to sponsoring Fire Prevention Week™ every October since 1922, NFPA offers the fire service a wide collection of campaigns, safety tip sheets, content, and outreach tools to engage audiences via special events, social media and community programs. Emergency responders are able to utilize seasonal information, educational materials, videos, messaging, and resources that have been created to inform at-risk audiences by visiting www.nfpa.org/public-education.
Firewise USA
We all have a role to play in protecting ourselves and each other from the risk of wildfire. NFPA’s Wildfire Division provides information, educational resources, trainings and conferences for wildfire stakeholders to help reduce their risk of wildfire damage to homes and property, and administers the national Firewise USA™ program (co-sponsored by the USDA Forest Service). For more information and resources, visit www.firewise.org.
Fire Sprinkler Initiative
NFPA’s Fire Sprinkler Initiative is an advocacy campaign aimed at increasing the use of home fire sprinklers via the adoption of sprinkler requirements in new construction. Its website offers an array of free research and resources that help sprinkler advocates underscore the life-saving impact of home fire sprinklers to decision makers.
