NFPA produces dozens of reports every year on the overall fire problem, firefighter fatalities and injuries, major fire causes, fire protection systems, and other topics. We also work with organizations around the world to investigate new technologies and document the performance of fire- and building-related products.
Data
As NFPA seeks to provide greater resources to those who rely on us for critical information and knowledge to eliminate loss from fire and other hazards, we are working to further harness the power of data for our stakeholders, including the U.S. fire service.
Research
NFPA produces statistical reports on firefighter fatalities and injuries in the U.S., fire department calls, the U.S. fire department profile and has compiled a needs assessment of the U.S. fire service. In addition, the research affiliate of NFPA, the Fire Protection Research Foundation, is an independent nonprofit whose mission is to plan, manage and communicate research in support of the association. Many of the Foundation's past and current projects help inform emergency responders about topics including fireground operations, fire prevention and personal protective equipment.
